Ramadan and Eid color by numbers and number sense
Some time ago, while I was first browsing through TpT I found a sea of resources for holidays. Easter, Christmas, Halloween, St. Patrick's Day and Valentines Day are heavily represented and well-prepared for. This seemed great- a variety of ideas and materials worth celebrating with!
When searching for Islamic holidays however I was shocked to find very few Ramadan and Eid-al-Fitr resources in the sea of holiday-related resources. As a teacher of a Muslim majority class I was a little sad as I want as much variety as possible in my classroom and to be as inclusive as possible to all my students! As Ramadan is set to start next week, I'm excited to celebrate with them every step of the way!
For this purpose I've created a variety of mathematics and ELA related resources to help celebrate! These have been fun to create and I'm hoping they brighten this holiday even more for students!
Today, I want to share a very cute color-by-code type activity that even I was excited to color! The colors are bright and cute and the result is adorable- well worth the hard work of solving the code and coloring it! It's suitable for practicing during the 30-day fasting season of Ramadan and also for celebrating duing Eid-al-Fitr which falls at the end of the fasting month.
These codes come with 6 different pictures, all of which I find completely adorable! I've created 4 versions of each practicing different skills.
The four versions are:
- -numbers 1-10
- -numbers 11-20
- -number sense 1-10
- -number sense 11-20
The number sense pictures basically use a variety of different objects and symbols to represent the numbers- including the written form, blocks, tally marks and stars. This allows a greater variety of practice and more opportunities to challenge your students!
These were incredibly fun to make and even more fun to color! I truly hope your students will enjoy these! Happy Teaching and Eid Mubarak!

Build a town with 20 places
I'm very excited to finally share this. After having devoted the past 8 years to creating teaching resources, finally this is my first ever product on Teachers Pay Teachers! I never imagined that I would do this but well, 2020 is the year of doing unexpected things!
And I'm so happy that this is my very first!
So, please allow me to introduce my town!
In this town we have everything you can imagine from a hospital to a flower shop, a zoo and a cinema. In total, this town has 20 different places to make and visit.
So come this way, let's explore the town.
And exploring this town has been a joy for myself and my students. Learning prepositions? Easy, students can arrange the town however they like. You can give the instructions (the cinema is next to the zoo) and they can rearrange their buildings! They can describe to each other or look at their town and write their descriptions!
Giving directions? Throw in some toy cars or figurines and the kids are fully immersed in learning!
The pack comes with full color, ready to print places as well as the same 20 buildings in black and white for your students to color! The buildings are very easy to make- all you need is scissors and glue and you're ready to go.
The best part is the town is theirs! This town even has room to grow where your kids can make their own buildings and arrange their own streets. My kids adored working together to color in their own buildings, adding their own favorite shops and designing their own town.
Of course this town is a suitable activity for your kids to make at home or in a classroom. I hope they'll love this town as much as mine did. You can find the resources HERE.
Happy teaching!
